Greetings. I will be your waifu this season.

First episode was out today(technically yesterday for me)

Actually thought it was pretty damn good, I forgot how much more enjoyable the anime is.

If not just for the music and voice acting...pretty horrific death scenes.

Obviously a big talk point for this particular anime, the opening:

Seems like they basically tried to recreate the first one but obviously it can't possibly live up to the hype of the original.
Still, it's decent.

But eh...dinosaurs? Wtf?

Apparently this will veer off from the manga a bit but I hope that part in the opening is just some evolution thing...dinosaurs in Attack on Titan would be some f***ing weird filler content.

The Beast Titan has so much swag. He may be deformed and ugly, but he's my absolute fave titan now.

Also, I'm ALL for flying whales and dinosaurs to appear in this series. Get 'em, Beast Titan!

I'm enjoying having a voice to the character.

Can't wait to see some of the cool stuff he does animated...gonna be damn brutal if it isn't messed up somehow.

I've only see episode 1 :( I really need to catch up on this. My friends are telling me that it's amazing so far, even for people who have read the manga.

It's dragged in some places but generally they've done well so far, I hope upcoming fights live up to the end of last weeks episode.

Damn shame this season is only 12 episodes long, I hope that means they'll do another 12 episode season somewhat soon after.

Really hope Hollywood manage to adapt this series in to live action and not have it flop because of "ermagerd, whitewashin'!" (even though there's literally 2 Asian people in the series)

Conceptually it's just so friggin cool.

It's a shame I got spoiled about the Colossal and Armored Titan's identities ages ago, though the Armored Titan seemed obvious enough. The Colossal Titan was a pretty big surprise though, I never expected it would be that guy.

Very disappointed about the CGI, it looked good, but the Colossal Titan looked better when he was hand-drawn.

As long as they use the Toei special effects and it's not just constant CGI monstrosities, I'd be down for that... IF they can do a good job, and they likely won't since it's HollyWood adapting an anime.

Well Ghost in the Shell was pretty damn good, just a little flat in todays world since the themes and such have been overdone by now.

There's room for a great adaptation in there...that hopefully wouldn't get bogged down by a crappy, pointless love story like the Japanese live action movie.

And yeah when the trailer came out I was uncertain on the animation, still am for the most part. It is around 4 years since the first series came out though so no doubt they struggled to get the funding for it, probably why they opted for 12 episodes because there's more than enough material for another 24.

I really hope it's not one episode per chapter, I want them to condense several chapters into single episodes, at least so that we get to see more titan action, and I know there's more coming.

Great, one well recieved anime adaptation done by HollyWood out of... how many now? That's like trusting Fox to make a good Fantastic Four or Silver Surfer movie, they're proven they only do good when they stay a little far away from the series, as we saw with Deadpool and Logan. I'd rather not trust HollyWood when it comes to certain (and most) franchises.

Actually, GITS hasn't been well received but only because of idiots thinking it's whitewashed, it's a great movie in it's own right.

Otherwise the track record really isn't that bad, at least according to Wikipedia. Oldboy I haven't watched but have heard is great and the others are either too old to be judged by todays movie standards or are...Dragon Ball Evolution and Speed Racer. Most of them are yet to be released really.

If GITS is anything to go by then I'm hopeful anyway. We've moved past Dragon Ball Evolution...thank God.

Expect two big conflicts, I have a good idea of where they're ending this series.
It seems to be running in exactly the same way as the first series actually just less episodes thus faster pace.

Really hope they opt for 12 episodes a year that'd be great, there's 12 manga chapters a year and they're twice as long as a normal manga so I think that's pretty workable.
Though they'd have to blast through some of the super boring stuff after these events.

I remember seeing a lot about how this series is going to "Go in a different direction" and will feature a lot of filler...so far there's been...none? Pretty sure there hasn't been any major sections of filler...

I imagine all the filler-ish stuff from the manga (such as backstories for other characters) will be shown through OVAs. That's how I'd rather have it myself anyway.

I figured the Season would end like it's going to next weak. Not going to spoil it for anyone who hasn't read the manga, but next episode will have my favorite part from the manga.

I'm fairly surprised by how this one ended. Considering the way they end these, I was half expecting this "reveal" to happen in this season's last episode, but I'm glad to think the fans will get to see and enjoy something pretty much all of them wanted to see happen.

It's too bad we can't get more episodes for this season. I heard it's because the show has a low budget and can only cover a few months worth of episodes. Who knows when they'll do a season 3.

Low budget? I guess that'd explain the CGI Colossal Titan, but there were still hand-drawn shots and they all looked really good. In some scenes the CGI helped, even, it was actually pretty good CGI.
