Let's have some healthy analysis on the subject. For the uninitiated (but surely here on NSF there would be no such persons): http://imgur.com/a/gc6Cc Now, we know that Hiashi's keikaku[1] is still in motion. Though we've yet to see any hints so far, it is clear that, given Sasuke's survival from the Uchiha massacre, it is fair to say that Hiashi will be attempting to bring Nuts and Salad together as he so masterfully did with our lord and savior and his own spawn. However, I believe that scenario is incomparable to what we saw before. The spawn of Hiashi was already motivated to reproduce en masse and only worked slowly due to an overwhelming fear of failure. Back then, Hiashi's sophisticated methods would appear, to those with inferior mental capacity, to be mere prodding, but this time, his keikaku will have to be so advanced that even the untrained eye will be unable to find a way to dumb it down for its less-than-stellar brain. It is important to note that Flash and Salad are not as compatible as one would like. When it comes time to find a partner for mating season, it may well be the case that these two will not even frequent the same grounds as one another. This was not the case with the previous pair, as they both ultimately shared the same outlook on life and, therefore, found themselves on the same road to life -- and, thus, life was born in the form of two potato-heads that don't actually look cute until after a month or two but are treated as such nonetheless. In any case, I am curious to see how this will play out. I find it hard to believe that the writers will be able to find a way for even a eugenics master such as Hiashi to reasonably succeed in bringing his clan the ultimate strength without the readers feeling cheated (especially those who are intellectually stimulated as ourselves) -- you need more than 530 hours of Crusader Kings II per day to pull off a feat like this. But, well, I have been wrong before. What are your predictions? On a related note: What are your thoughts on the first phase of the keikaku? I personally believe that allowing Kiba's occasional intervention was perhaps not the most subtle move, but maybe it was for the best. [1] TL Note: keikaku means plan |

Hiashi was a genius of which there is no equal, it's a credit to the series as a whole that such an in depth and complex plotline was written in to the series so well that it was never openly addressed by any character. The best part is Hiashi knew that, for all his scheming, there was times he just had to play it by ear and take advantage of the situation. He never anticipated having Neji's support but got it anyway and used it to his advantage. With Kiba, he knew he was a moron who was going to run his mouth anyway, may as well use that to his favour if possible. I agree his next step is probably one too far realistically but who knows? I have faith that Kishimoto and his assistants can pull it off realistically like they did absolutely everything else in this series with no exceptions. |
