What kind of tone do you prefer for the Dragon Ball/Z series? Do you prefer it to be serious and action-packed with your favorite character (like Gohan, Piccolo or Vegeta) as the main protagonist, do you prefer a light-hearted comedy with occational dark moments and Goku as the main protagonist, or a mix of both like the Buu Saga?

The Lord of the Dark

A good mix of great action, great comedy and great drama, which doesn't happen too often in the series unfortunately.

Piccolo: Just how many people have you sacrificed?!

Cell: Sacrifice? Hmph, rubbish! On the contrary, it is an honor to become a fraction of my power.

I like the way it is. Mostly serious and sometimes dark and every now and then a little bit of comedy

I tend to prefer a blend of seriousness and comedy. Pretty much what we saw in the Freeza Saga.

Thala na Gethu!

Just the way it was. Or is.

NOT OVERLY DARK like Namek/Frieza or downright dumbish as Super.

Kinda balanced like Android-Buu Arc

The way the story was originally written. Getting dramatic and intense at times, but never taking itself too seriously, and always having a happy ending.

Which is why I hate the ending of the Trunks arc in Super so much. Those types of dismal "the heroes fail and barely survive, everything is lost" endings have no place in Dragon Ball.
