Mozilla Firefox Favourite Manga Berserk all day erry day	If this is going to be the stark of a new, more dark comic universe and Venom is supposed to be a protagonist or "good" guy of sorts I guess it'd make sense. I'd prefer big bad crazy Venom but maybe he could have his out of control moments where he ends up looking like that. Perhaps they saw Venom in Spider-Man 3 as a failure, as in they figured people don't like that sort of Venom so they're going with a different one. Even though that Venom was completely different to the norm...and was really more similar to Carnage.

He still had good intentions and abandoned his plans for revenge after Spider-Man saved someone he cared for. During the 90s he was one of THE perfect examples to use for anti-hero archetypes. He wasn't like many of the other hosts his symbiote went after, like Gargan. He wasn't a villain. He killed people but if someone convinced him to do otherwise, he would let his victims live, as he's done a few times in the past. Venom is evil to a degree. He's not purely a bad guy who follows his psychotic side through and through, there's far more depth to him than just that.

Would have been cool to actually see Venom but makes sense to not blow your load in a teaser. I'd take this being the only trailer over them spoiling absolutely everything else. One thing I'm not getting is...telekinesis? Is that what I was seeing there? Wut. Can you imagine how s*** it'd be if there was no symbiote at all and Venom was just the name for some generic military experiment crap and actually it's nothing to do with Spider-Man at all?

Spidey's got a few of those. And I'm sure Sony owns a few others that aren't necessarily with Spidey. Maybe it's not a Marvel villain at all. Maybe the symbiote is some sort of unique bio-weapon made by some new aliens, and said aliens are hunting down Eddie, alongside the government.

I'd rather wait for the movie itself to actually see Venom in action. I hope Sony doesn't go the MCU route and basically reveals most of their movie's plot in a single trailer. When this film was announced I tought the idea of a Spider-Man-less Venom movie was pretty stupid but right now I'm fairly optimistic about it. Edited by Topographic Oceans, Feb 9 2018, 02:03 PM.
