no screenshots for the previous episode... HERE'S EPISODE 4 ANYWAYS!!!
Classic intro. Yeah, it's already classic for me, as everything Samurai Jack related is.
I'm intrigued by the plot of this episode, but I know they'll do a fantastic job as always, as Genndy doesn't seem to ever disappoint.
There's already crows going around, most likely due to the many dead sisters' corpses, excluding Ashi of course. It'd be perfect if these crows were robots.
F*ckin' hell Jack, that's what you had in mind while you fought the sisters? No wonder you were so terrified lol.
And now you scared the crows. That's probably going to inform some people of your location.
Any Samurai Jack fan knows that trees shaped like these are never good news.
Then again they could just be normal trees...
Still, worst shape possible.
That's an epic shot.
Stupid birds calling him a murderer... Don't they realize that's never a good thing to a murderer? DUH.
Holy crap, she's still alive, and that surprises me despite knowing it would happen, perhaps because she woke up seconds after Jack, and that's impressive.
Aaaand, she gets owned again. Guess the sisters were only hot s*** when they all fought together, and even then it was the element of surprise which screwed the other side over.
In any case, I imagine this is where the character development begins.
HOLY s*** IT'S THE GODZILLA ROAR
SAMURAI JACK, GO f*** UP GODZILLA PLS
lol
Never expected Jack to say "Are you kidding me?", that was quite unexpected, even with the situation he's in.
...I really hope those are not eggs.
Whether they are or not, here's more action!
And we're only 6 minutes in!
These guys are getting their asses kicked by themselves.
Ah, Jack.
Never stop being awesome.
This creature has already put many giant monsters to shame with the sheer size of its blood cells. That's incredible.
Not a good thing if Tara Strong has two voicing roles in the same episode. Her voice doesn't have that great of a range.
I'm not sure why she decided to talk with Ashi instead of the others. Perhaps he knew that they were far too dangerous to be kept alive, perhaps he kept her to take responsability on killing them, but he did say that they're the ones responsible for choosing that path, yet he's teaching one of them about the truth of Aku, maybe because he saw how lost she was, how she was more than just a mere assassin.
Huh. Interesting bit of dialogue. The giant creatures Jack has encountered throughout the series are apparently Aku's doings. Not sure in what way but it's pretty interesting.
Red spikes start falling from the sky, and so begins another comedic scene in Samurai Jack. I never get tired of these.
Then we get to the nostrils of the creature. Some flying fish or something are quite beautiful, and the colors hypnotize Ashi.
Also, that fish from the original intro didn't appreciate you swimming through his skeleton, Jack.
This thing is quite persistent though.
And these fish have cool powers.
ffs Jack, how have you forgotten to JUMP GOOD?
Ok, thank you. He jumped.
...Into the water. This creature was semi-aquatic, like a crocodile, with spikes on its back too... IT REALLY WAS GODZILLA.
Welp, now they're stranded on an island. And yay, she's starting to see the way.
Ok, so... The start of this episode is amazing just because of the Scotsman. He hasn't changed one bit.
His daughters are pretty cool too. I could say I'd be impressed by the amount of children he's spawned, but come on, this is the Scotsman. I'm surprised there's not that many, actually.
My only two complaints is the lack of Scotsman's wife (let's be honest she's better than any of the soldiers in that huge army, HELL, she's better than the whole army) and New Aku. Greg Baldwin's voice is still hard to digest for me, and so is New Aku's characterization, but I won't b*** about it again, as I already did it in the second episode. Thankfully, every time Aku isn't talking and just doing his classic facial expressions, it's pretty good. Not as good as it originally was, since the art has changed a bit, but his dopey faces are great.
Also, first time seeing Aku's tongue. It's blue? wut?
And just because he's the third best character in the show behind the main character and the main villain, he gets to re-appear as a ghost (CELTIC MAGIC IS THE BEST), claiming he's going to create a huge army and find Jack, presumably linked to the Guardian's portal's premonition, something we saw in the non-canon IDW comics.
Just like in the comic, any of these minor characters Jack's met and more should be there.
I know a good bunch wouldn't be good soldiers, but who cares. Everyone wants them back. Assuming they're not dead, which some of them might be. Plus the Imakandi would be hard to recruit, as they don't really owe Jack anything beyond being the greatest prey, plus they're in another planet. BUT STILL.
You know, I don't disagree with the High Priestess there, Ashi was the weakest of the bunch.
The others were incredibly loyal and probably wouldn't have had a change of heart like Ashi. She was the one who got most curious of the outside world, being the only one who seemingly ever laid her eyes upon it. There was some good in her from the very beginning, the rest were no different than the robots Jack has been facing. I've come to really like her, she's her own character now, and a good one at that, despite Tara Strong voicing her.
Samurai Jack taming a sea serpent is what comes next. Awesome, amirite?
THE NEVERENDING STORYYYYY
More character development happens, and a tale is told. The best tale, I might add.
Then Jack does as promised, and shows Ashi what Aku has done to this world. Beauty is nearly extinct, and evil prevails over good.
I'm neither surprised by Jack's sense or fashion nor about how easily he entered one of Aku's fortresses. I just wanted to share that.
This Crimson Dynamo guy (Dominator's the name, according to the credits, I think, though I'm not sure if that's the name given to the criminal dude. Whoever it is, his name is Aaron LaPlante) has already jumped pretty high into the best Samurai Jack villains list. Not only because he's a huge a***** with a cool armor and voice (as expected with Samurai Jack bad guys, he's also quite funny), but because that little "children are foolish things, easily manipulated" speech is perfect for Ashi, who knows what that feels like.
And yes, every scene with these Gremlin kids is quite creepy.
And as if Jack wasn't f***ed up enough, he thinks they're dead (after Ashi turned off the mind-controlling thingy) and that it's his fault, and so he goes with the stranger in the shadows, who might not be an illusion after all.
Episode 6 is just the biggest fan service moment in this entire series...in all terms of the word. I won't spoil it but needless to say i had the biggest grin on my face watching this entire episode.

YO I CAN'T WAIT
THAT PREVIEW WAS ALREADY ENOUGH TO SATISFY MY EVERYTHING
And this episode shows the little changes that have happened. Just look at Jack's overall design.
Yeah, go Spider-Man on those trees, Ashi! That was a pretty big fall though...
Also, I could complain how that weapon was already broken, but Ashi could've bought another.
SCARAMOUCH IS STILL ALIVE?!
YOU GIVE US THIS BUT NOT DEMONGO?!
UNACCEPTABLE!!
Epic. A samurai among cartoons, a god among legends. That's what this show is.
Oh man, I remember the creepy Blind Archers.
I now understand what you're saying EMIYA, this episode is just filling me with welcoming chills.
...Did Scaramouch just steal a dog and a man's body? Nevermind. I guess the dog had a tiny head aswell.
Huh.
Is this the first time Tom Kenny has said the p-word?
RAAAAAAAAVEEEE!!!!!!
This looks like it would hurt.
I was not expecting a musical number. I'm really enjoying this, however. So I cannot complain at all.
Oh wow this priestess is such a b***. Like, such a b***.
I like the new outfit, Ashi.
These guys made me lol so hard
Yo, this bar is just filled with allies. AWESOME. Well, maybe not. The gladiator guy looks ally-ish at least.
Just for this, this episode has become one of my all time favourites. Like every episode.
THAT BLUE FLAME!!!! IT CAN'T BE!!!!
YES!!! FIRST SCOTSMAN NOW THE FOURTH BEST CHARACTER IN THE SHOW!!! I'M HAPPY WITH THAT CAMEO, SMALL AS IT MAY BE!!!
This finale was so epic I was speechless. How can you keep doing this to me, Genndy?
Anyway, time to find Jack's sword!
And possibly end this with a movie.
And also
EPISODE 7!
So we start off with Classic Jack. They've finally given him his yellowish tone of skin color. The pink weirded me out the first couple of episodes. I'm sure there's an explanation for that.
d'awww.
And there's more! And... they're following Jack up the mountain where there's presumably a portal? This can't be good.
And he finds it.
But then he gets pulled out, by you know who.
That was a decent Mako laugh. Not good, just decent.
I'll patiently wait for the better Aku impersonator to dub over these scenes.
So Aku just turned the little lambs into giant bulls.
First time I see him shapeshifting somebody else, but given his wide array of powers, I'm not surprised.
Ok, so he's back to yellow(ish). Maybe Genndy didn't realize until it was too late. Heh. Btw, I miss that wolf.
He's also returned to the place where he lost the sword, and I can already see people saying that Aku is a moron for not leaving any guards there. And I'd be like DUH, the dude didn't bother to make an anti-Samurai Jack plan for when he came to the future and putting any minions there would just be a waste of good warriors. Few to none can compete with Jack.
Now Jack's meditating...
And he's somewhere else now. The spirit realm?
And then he walks through the sun...
We get more pretty visuals...
He sees a monk... A blue monk... Who invites him to have some tea... Oh wait, no, that was just the lighting, he ain't blue. I like this scene with the tea. It's very calm, it contrasts with what's going on at the same time, Ashi proceeds to stomp the crap out of the army she saw coming a while ago. They grow up so fast...
Oh shiiiii...
She's not as cool as I expected.
She can't even manhandle one of her children. Or should I say womanhandle?
Sorry.
In any case, hopefully the arrow and the fall kill her. Otherwise I'm expecting Demongo to come in with the souls of the dead sisters to take revenge upon the samurai. She should've also brought that big brute from the first episode.
About time you three showed up.
And just like that, Jack's back in bussiness.
3 episodes left, and that's ALL we need, baby!.
8!
Not much to say here, other than while the romance felt a bit forced, it was still very well written, even if the monster they face was kinda dull. The things you can do with a PG rating, huh.
9!
No screenshots here either.
But for a moment I thought they were going to reference the IDW comics with that robot graveyard. Then I realized... This looked like The Guardian's place. But then I see his glasses on the floor... And it saddens me. All of the show's badasses are slowly being killed off... AND I DON'T LIKE THAT.
This reveal is pretty good but if this were the original Aku, he would've plotted this from the beginning.
I swear I'll come back after rewatching this episode, there are some amazing and creepy shots in here.
Have some screenshots for the previous episode tho
I don't dig this new costume, so I'm glad it gets taken out almost right away.
I don't care for all the mushy stuff, even if Jack's reaction when he sees that Ashi left his gi there is quite good. The demonstration of seasons passing is very nice too, but we're all here for one thing.
That's the stuff, babe.
So he can just do this now, huh. Alright, I'm cool with that.
That Aku dance is pretty great too. But we're finally getting to the best part and the best shots of the episode.
Oh hey, we're back at the scottish place where Scotsman's people hang out. That's cool.
Good to know those underwater peeps rebuilt their city. Interesting to see that the Woolies have a TV, though. Even the guy who taught Jack how to jump good is alive? Awesome.
GOOD LORD ALL THESE CAMEOS
I may be joking but this is an awesome and intense scene. No doubt Aku is going to show Samurai Jack's demise on TV like the sick f*** he is.
DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUDE DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUDE THEY'RE PLAYING THE ORIGINAL INTROOOOOOOOOO
AKU IS SO f***ING AWESOME
THIS IS SO GOOD I CAN'T EVEN SAY ANYTHING SO FAR But Jack's allies have arrived, quicker than I expected. Aku's banter must've taken a really long time, huh. And while Aku may be invincible in their eyes, he's still unable to understand that those weren't flying monkeys. They JUMPED GOOD.
And Ashi's currently between Jack and his sword.
Aku creates an army... GOD GOOD YES
insert Batman joke here
I've disliked nothing about the episode so far, but that is a pitiful way to go down for Aku... I LOVE IT.
This is exactly how Jack deserved his tale to end, with him and Ashi getting ma-*Ashi collapses*-NOOOOOOOOO
Okay, so sad ending it is.
I am speechless and I'm happy. That was full of charm and a void within my heart has been refilled with the proper and well deserved ending to one of my favourite shows of all time. Long Live, Samurai Jack. He had to get back to the past, and he's home now.
