My Dear Melancholy,

Holy here we go again Batman! DC is finally giving Nightwing the respect he deserves and giving him his own Movie  . With Affleck having some Batman issues. Perhaps Nightwing could become the main Batfamily member in the DCEU.

Warner Bros. is plotting a new DC superhero film based on the Batman-centric character Nightwing.

Chris McKay, who most recently directed The Lego Batman Movie for Warner Bros., is in negotiations to helm the new live-action film, and Bill Dubuque (The Accountant) is writing the script.

Nightwing, aka Dick Grayson, is perhaps best known for being the original Robin. Grayson was the youngest member of a family of acrobats known as the Flying Graysons. He was created by Bob Kane and Bill Finger and illustrator Jerry Robinson, and first introduced in Detective Comics No. 38 in April 1940. After his parents were murdered, he was taken in as the legal ward of Bruce Wayne/Batman. He then became Robin and teamed up with the Dark Knight on many an adventure to fight crime in the city of Gotham.

There's rumors this could easily be a replacement for the Batman character.

Batman has already died in the fight against Darkseid in the comics.
Those ominous Knightmares in BvS are foreshadowing to consider.
Affleck seems tired of his DCEU commitments.
We're hearing Batman movie announcements without Affleck's name mentioned.
Now a DCEU Nightwing is being fast-tracked, including a major solo movie to establish the character.

Ben Affleck's name wasn't even mentioned in The Batman director announcement. Is that a sign of more big news to come?

Piccolo: Just how many people have you sacrificed?!

Cell: Sacrifice? Hmph, rubbish! On the contrary, it is an honor to become a fraction of my power.

Greetings. I will be your waifu this season.

Awesome, I wonder if what I said about Nightwing becoming Batman might hold true in the DCEU.

Would be a good contingency for if Affleck does decide he wants out, make people like Nightwing first so it's not so sudden.

Flashy Thing!

I would watch this. I would be interested to see how much time they spend on his backstory

Well the director for the Lego Batman Movie is taking charge and that movie did pretty well.

Though knowing DC, they'll get way too involved ruining what could potentially be a great film.
