Posts: 107 Group: Member Member #4,932 Joined: June 6, 2010	Vegeta used to be the guy that was extremely arrogant and wanted to face a good challenge, so he was willing to take a risk in order to fulfill this purpose. For instance, he gets a lot of criticism for allowing Cell to absorb Android 18 and become Perfect. Come to think of it, that's the only major instance where he puts everyone at risk just so that he can have a challenge and to satisfy his curiosity. He did allow Babidi to give him super powers, but as we saw, Vegeta was in control that entire time and it wasn't that big of a risk. It may have been a dumb move, but it wasn't necessarily worse than some of the stuff that Goku has done. Goku, at least in the English dubs, was the guy that was a champion for good. He also seemed to be a family man before Raditz came onto the scene. His only real issue was that he maybe had a little too much self-confidence, which is what you saw a lot of during the last arc of Dragon Ball. Fast forward in the story and you may have noticed that Goku is way more self-centered and more of a risk taker than Vegeta ever was. 1) Goku insisted on fighting Frreeza despite King Kai repeatedly telling him not to. 2) Goku didn't kill Buu when he could have because he wanted Trunks and Goten to have a chance to fight. 3) Goku chose to stay dead after the Cell saga for noble reasons at the time (too many villains plotted against him, so it might be best to stay away from the Earth), but then it became obvious with Dragon Ball Super 77 that he didn't have any remorse about being away from his family and friends in order to train with the Kais. 4) Furthermore in Super episode 77, Goku does all he can to get Vegeta to come and train with him rather than stick around for Bulma while she's pregnant. 5) Goku mentions early on in Super that he doesn't like parties and would rather train. Vegeta only went to Bulmas party after she yelled at him. In this regard, they are both similar. However, Goku slept through his son's movie and didn't care about Bulma's pregnancy. Seems as though Goku should be calling himself Kakarot by now or even Bardock, because his only interest is more inline with being a Saiyan than a human. Vegeta is even put off by Goku's on track mind for fighting. 6) Goku has never kissed his own wife. 7) He completely blew off Beerus's advice to go and push Zeno into having the universal tournament, all for his own satisfaction. Again, Vegeta allowed Cell to become perfect, but you have to guess that Goku would have done the same thing. He and Vegeta refused Bulma's advice to stop Dr. Gero from creating the androids after Trunks's warning, so you can guess that he would have even let Cell absorb #18 too. To Goku's credit, he was itching to fight Beerus, but he did actually listen to King Kai and stay hidden until he was called to come out. So he's not completely reckless.

Goku's been incredibly selfish and reckless since like the 23rd tournament. His selfish actions with confronting Zeno are no different than his selfish actions of sparing Vegeta.

If they had listened - Buu doesnt get Gohan's energy that Shin gave away to fill half the meter - Goku and Vegeta get to have their fight - Buu is released in a weakened state versus Goku/Vegeta while Gohan gets Dabura/Yakon/Pui Pui Vegeta's simple hot head response was the best actual solution of all

So unless he taps into his Super Saiyan 2 power or rage, he's getting wrecked.

Though I think this arc's point is to address Goku's issues, episode 77 seemed very self aware of Goku's attitude. Goku is ironically more saiyan than any saiyan ever and the prince of all saiyans is becoming more human.

I think it's the fact that his reckless nature has been the same for a long time, and the consequences of said nature are becoming bigger, the stakes are becoming greater. I do agree that episode 77 highlights this. I'm hoping Goku feels genuine guilt for what he's doing, and that a lot of people are pissed with him.
