In 2011 Obama cut the refugee number entering US soil in half, and that is what I think Trump is aiming for, but to do so he had to go extreme which he very well did, so now the eventual compromise will mirror that to Obama's refugee policy in 2011. The outcome will not be a complete ban which I agree is unconstitutional, but a strong form of vetting.
Trump's EO said no more than 50k will be let in, which is on par with Bush and Obama. Which is good. So people shouldn't be upset and claim that Trump is trying to end immigration and he must be stopped at all costs! Attica! Attica! Attica! I've always wanted to say that in a comment that was used in the proper context.. :)
