what do you think is better both are terrible but super is better tbh. a lot more fun characters (beerus, whis, champa, vados, omni king, hit, etc). better treatment of the side characters. ssb > ss4 btw |

Super because of the better use of characters other than Goku but Baby and the Shado Dragons were great concepts. I'd have not had Goku shrink down to a child and he'd have been the one infected y Baby during their travels in space, then it'd be the Z fighters versus Baby Goku instead of Vegeta. |

Super imo. GT has a lot that's superior, but in terms of the story and plot in doesn't come close to Super.

GT was easily better. Better designs, better arcs. The problem with GT is how rushed it is, if it was given 20 more episodes to settle down the progression, as well as Vegeta having moments for himself and get SSj4 earlier, would of been much better. Super is honestly 5.5/10, GT was 6/10. Super is so inconsistent with scaling i don't know where to start, at least GT stuck towards power scaling at times and didn't make a real mess out of things. |

GT and Super both share a lot of the same problems when it comes to writing, character portrayal, coherence with the source material, and so forth. Viewed and compared solely on their own merits, neither one is really much better than the other. But what makes GT better or at least less offensive for me is that it's distinctly separate from the original work. It's set a full 5 years after the manga's epilogue, so even though it seems to operate under its own rules of sorts, it's easier to see it as a harmless side-story. It's something that's set neatly off to the side where it doesn't touch or interfere with anything else. Super, on the other hand, has shoved itself down in-between two periods of the original story and is apparently trying its best to just flail around and damage whatever it can on all sides. Dragon Ball doesn't have all that complicated or important a continuity, but that just makes it even worse that Super can't be bothered to keep track of basic and inexcusable things like character ages. Super's placement in the DB timetable just makes its screw-ups stand out all that much more. GT is like a harmless squirrel that lives in your back yard and minds its own business. Super is like a raccoon that keeps finding its way into your house and breaking your stuff. Final note, Super Saiyan 4 is leagues better than either Super Saiyan God or Blue. GT tried to be good and creative. Super doesn't even try to be mediocre in any department, even for the standards of a children's cartoon. |

By now you should know that the reason why Goku was a child in GT was because of the negative energy developed from the dragon balls that caused him to shrink in size. |

GT is superior, pretty much for the exact reasons Kaboom expressed, but I'd go a little further and say the characters are handled significantly better, Vegeta especially. |

Super and it's not even close. It's not even a matter of opinion at this point, there's a reason Super is already more episodes than GT. GT was a colossal failure in ALL terms of a TV anime that's why it lasted what, 60 episodes? Super will go over 100 because it's better. Super has better characters, action, and story. GT hardly expanded on the DBZ lore. Super has expanded on the Gods and Kais and it's been great. Goku and Vegeta are far better in Super. GT screwed them both up by turning Goku into a kid, and turning Vegeta into a weak earthling who didn't train anymore. And him cheating to get SSJ4 was disgraceful. The real Vegeta, as seen in Super, wouldn't accept a cheap trick like that. That's why in Super he said he would surpass Goku on his own by training. Beerus and Zamasu/Goku Black were 100x better than any villain in GT. And Golden Frieza was better than Super Android 17. The only good villain in GT was Omega Shenron, and he was only alright. |

^ Oh and Super Saiyan God & Super Saiyan Blue are far better than SSJ4. SSJ4 was so uncreative and ugly and boring. Introducing God ki was a great idea, better than just a new saiyan transformation again.

Uncreative? SSJ4 doesn't even look like it belongs in the DB franchise. It's the most creative SSJ form to date whether it's ugly or not. SSJG is an anorexic Kaioken with a different facial expression and different aura. SSJB is a SSJ recolor with a different aura (though its look has grown on me, but primarily when the aura is present). Wow so inspiring. Edited by Slifer, Feb 6 2017, 07:45 PM.
