He tells Piccolo this to his face, trying to calm him down that Majin Boo won't destroy the Earth as he expects a new and stronger opponent to arrive. At the very lest, this would have to be on the Goku that just directly fought Majin Boo. Funny in that I'm pretty sure everyone would say this Goku>>>Majin Vegeta. Even when Base Gotenks first forms, his power is treated in awe by everyone including Piccolo. Funny in how many of these characters such as Krillin who had seen Majin Vegeta struggle and die against Boo treat a guy several times weaker than him in awe. Come SSJ Gotenks and once again, Piccolo is in awe of his power. Even afterwards when Gotenks proves both his power and his movements while rushing off, Piccolo is more concerned with the time limit than his actual power. Yet apparently we must take a random line in a guidebook that I guarantee you all is NEVER brought up in the manga and need to make Gotenks weaker than Vegeta.

That's making the assumption that bloated numbers are bad and unintended, though. 'Bloating' seems to have an inherently negative meaning to a lot of people, but the opposite of it is low-balling and being minimal, which is just as bad. Goten and Trunks were said to improve a lot when they fought at the tournament, but since we don't know how much stronger Gotenks is than Goku (and I refuse to be dragged into this debate), I don't know if "a lot" is enough to put them below Boo prior training. In any case I think it'll be a tough fight.

So I don't see why we shouldn't follow the daizenshuu However if the daizenshuu contradicts the manga...what? Does the daizenshuu retcon the manga or something? Obviously the manga takes precedence Then again...is there necessarily any contradiction? "The two entered the Room of Spirit and Time, and hurriedly trained as Gotenks. As a result, Gotenks leveled up so much that his strength surpassed Vegeta and the others." Could it be referring to base gotenks?

That's a ton of information for him to draw from and keep his thoughts in order. It doesn't necessarily mean every single bit of information was deemed vital.

What I think is that ssj gotenks being above ssj3 goku was never ever stated nor by piccolo nor by gotenks himself. ssj3 goku > ssj gotenks pre >~ fat buu Piccolo questioned his speed right? And even that he was uncertain whether he can defeat majin buu. Post rosat gotenks is above goku but pre? ........ We only have goku's comment and maybe he meant post gotenks. When they master the fusion
