Honestly, would anyone be surprised? I bet one of them will come out with "Curing gay people is our next priority" and then nobody will remember this. Kinda funny if Trump does get kicked out though since Pence wouldn't last long either. How likely is this anyway really? At this rate it seems bound to happen unless Trump and co. calm their s*** down soon, barely past the 100 day mark and the outrage keeps going. If he does go out hopefully any damage he causes is easily mitigated. |

No, I think this time it's different, or at least I hope. People have been talking almost nonstop about Trump-Russia since Comey was fired (about 8 days), without much distraction. And with Rosenstein appointing a special prosecutor (before even notifying the White House of doing so), things seem to finally be escalating. |

The huge difference here than other times is, for one the kind of people Trump has tried to screw over and the fact that now the internal government system has truly gotten in touch with the situation. As I said, before, Republicans and even Democrats might turn a blind eye. They might think it's stupid, but not necessarily impeachable material. Democrats might focus more on getting the majority in in the 2018 election. It was easy enough for Trump to try and sidestep past the issue. He can't do that here and he's tried. Trump has basically pissed off the wrong person. Comey, regardless of his character, is someone is more than willing to call Trump out. He's not one to be pushed around by him. You've heard him, Trump claims there are tapes and Comey is like. "Yeah, let's see him. Let's see those tapes." He's calling the man out, he's got his memos ready and the point that Comey was fired because of the investigation into Russia, specifically Flynn, was even stated to be the case by Trump himself. The White House lied about it and Trump, being that guy, screwed himself over. Comey's ready to testify in public and has a huge backing by his associates. Trump has always been a bully who think he can get away with picking on others. Unfortunately for him, Comey is having none of it. Comey is ready to call all of Trumps BS out and start breaking balls off. He's also heavily popular with his associates. It's also been around this time that several other people have spoken up. Sally Yates spoke at a hearing and a few Democrats have spoken up on the point of impeachment due to the possibility of Obstruction of Justice. As noted, they recently hired a special prosecutor to the case. The White House is in shambles right now. They have no idea what to do. They're telling contradictory information to Trump while Trump, again probably being the smart guy he is, is basically proving Comey right. Republicans right now are out of their mind. They have no idea what to do and won't even make an attempt to support the President. It got so bad that Fox News, the home of Right Winged Conservatives, couldn't get anyone on air to provide any kin of support or answer any questions at the time. That's like an 11th Commandment for Republicans. "Thou Shalt Honor Thy True News Group, Fox and Speak thy words to thou anchors." It's hit a huge poit now and and its easy to see. Like I said, Trump tried to bully Comey and the guy's like: "Bring it on, b****." He's ready to bring the memos, others have his back, others have or are ready to speak. Subpoena Pens are int he hands ready to start writing. People are about to demand those so called "tapes", obstruction of justice is potentially being called out. The White House is clearly contradicting everything Trump says. Democrats are up at arms and not even the Republicans can find it in them to stick up for Trump. This has definitely hit a whole new level. I think by this point, people have finally realized, they can't turn a blind eye to it any longer. Edited by EMIYA, May 18 2017, 04:26 AM.

"But Hillary's emails!" Glad Comey is willing to take a stand, let's hope he doesn't mysteriously die in a totally unexpected accident. It's just baffling that it'd get this far. I hope next time people don't just listen to the presidential candidate with the biggest mouth because that's literally all there is to Trump. It's mad that you can become President through high school playground talk, truly mad. Not that there was a great selection of candidates but it's like people forgot how serious a job it is, heck even Trump didn't think it'd be as hard as being a businessman. I wonder if the next POTUS is going to be blamed for s*** Trump started like Obama was with the mess after Bush. |

I'm not sure if any of you brought this up but what do you think about the line of succession. If Trump is impeached, Pence will take over which also doesn't make me comfortable. If Pence some how goes down with Trump, then Paul Ryan is president and that scares me too. I also don't want any act of magic to get Hillary in the White House. |

As bad as those two are, I'm at least somewhat sure that they know how to read and write, whereas with Trump I'm not certain he can do anything of note, not just here in America but overseas. This is a man who needs his intelligence briefings given to him in a way you might show to a child, visual aids galore and putting his name in it as many times as possible. We have a blithering idiot who's barely even able to function as a person let alone a president, and granted, I don't like anyone in the immediate line of succession, but between a president who will do anything Ryan asks, and a president who will do anything Ryan or Putin or Alex Jones or Jinping asks and cannot read and cannot bother to maintain appearances. It's amazing how the bar's been lowered from a moral person who will protect our interests to someone vaguely competent who won't egregiously hurt it, to the point that people want him in only because he's incompetent, even though the man is clearly an incompetent and likely criminal manchild. Ideally I do hope Trump and his spineless cronies get swept up in this and thrown out, but frankly at this point, at least until the next election, I want someone competent that I'm certain will not commit treason (by accident or otherwise), and isn't another step closer to fascism, however slight. Pence is scum, but frankly I'll take him over Trump, at least for now since I can't imagine how much worse he can possibly than him, especially since Trump is already a rubber stamp for Ryan anyway. I've seen a few people say this but it's literally impossible, she's not anywhere in the line of succession. Even if it came out that Trump's campaign had literally rigged the voting and Hilary should have won, there would still be no way for her to become President. There's some speculation that Pence is involved in all this BS too so he could go down with Trump but I'd consider that an even longer shot than Trump being impeached. Firing Comey, imo, is an impeachable offence for obstruction of justice. it's the same high crime they impeached Clinton on and it's what they were going to use against Nixon. But this is a Republican congress so they won't go against him for that. Tbh I'm still skeptical of impeachment happening. In all honesty I feel like a resignation is more likely. |
