How credible do you find Myers-Briggs charts?

They're helpful for writing fictional characters, yes.

But how useful are they for real life?

Myers-Briggs.

If you use the search thing I've probably ranted about it at least once or twice in the past

Some sites for it have faux tests that are less than legitimate, but they're fairly accurate if you take the official test.

Lol "accurate" isn't a term I'd use for the mbti.

Is "LOGICIAN (INTP-T)" a Myers-Briggs result? I just got that when taking a personality test after I googled it.

I don't know how reliable it is, but I guess it can be fun to take.

That's exactly what I got.

It's pretty accurate for me anyway. My girlfriends was fairly accurate too.

They don't seem as vague as most horoscopes anyway "Something will happen today..."

"Oh my God. Something DID happen! Amazing!"

I'm not sure if they factor in mental disorders or anything though, I bet lots of autistic people get the exact same one even though we're hardly all the same person.

They still sort of do though. They can afford to be less vague because the answers to the questions will narrow you down to a specific type of person, but they still make a lot of blanket statements which seem to be hit or miss in whether they apply, at least in my experience.

"Course. Doing better next time. That's what life is."

Well the site I did the test on was pretty informative anyway it wasn't just like "You're bad at people stuff but good at other things" it had a big summary of a Logician and then different pages for strengths and weaknesses etc, it's fairly comprehensive.
Not that it definitely isn't a load of BS but not every result sounds like the same thing anyway.

I think I worded my thoughts wrongly. What I mean is, they're vague by not being vague. I took the same test and the results covered a whole bunch of stuff, enough that anyone who answered the questions that sent you to that particular personality is going to relate to a bunch of stuff, but also not relate to some of it. It's easy to pretend to be accurate if you pretty much cover every base.

I thought mbti was more for how you perceived the world? What yall are talking about sounds like horoscopes and star sign personality descriptions. Virgos are neat and orderly, etc. You were born on this day when the sun was here and this planet was here and that makes you x or whatever.

mbti I thought was more... you get energy from either being alone or with people, and then if you look at the big picture or details, and just listing how you are as a person, the facts of it not what affect a planet or constellation have on you, and what those qualities are best suited to.

If any of that makes sense

From a psychological perspective, zodiac signs do make sense in a way. I'd imagine that the time of the year and season you are born in would have some type of effect on the type of person you become. Not only does the weather change, but people change depending on the time of year. Just a thought, and kind of unrelated.
