I've done multiple playthroughs of the trilogy since Mass Effect 1 was released, I love it. I am very excited for Andromeda.

I really appreciate how most of their alien races aren't just human + skin recolor lol as a writer, I'm fascinated how species can develop differently on different worlds. it's just... seems rather impossible to me, imo, that aliens would look anything like us ? evolution is way too diverse for that

Bioware is pretty good about world building though. You can see some common themes in their writing (a friend of mine recently pointed out to me that mass effect is inquisition in space, or maybe it's better to say inquisition is mass effect in fantasy, but still), and of course there are things to improve on, but I've always enjoyed what they produce. I don't know if it's just me since I rp in it, but Dragon Age seems way more fleshed out. I wish they had more detail in Mass Effect haha
I think part of why Dragon's Age seems more fleshed out is because they don't have to soend as much time trying to decide what the group looks like since the only real differences in DA is between human and nonhuman with peppered nobility to keep things interesting. Lets you talk about the differences between the groups much more.

Mass Effect had to make credible evolution paths for their aliens to figure out why they look like they do and THEN discuss historical records.
