I used to work in a Optic lens company (like 12 years ago) that is normally in the business of making the lenses for various types of telescopes (like the ones you use to look at the stars etc). On more that one occasion the UK government/Military commissioned some very specifically sized mirrors of various refraction, that would be used for "weapons testing", it later came out it was for some sort of Laser, but nothing ever really came of it. Sounds like it's on the up.

Mozilla Firefox Favourite Manga Berserk all day erry day	Heard of these a few years ago or at least the first stages of it. Sadly they're not that glamorous unless things have changed, the laser is invisible to the naked eye so you can basically just make things catch fire. Service in mid 2020's...good God can you imagine how much money they're going to cost for what it does? Not even that useful. I see the appeal as a "because we can" sort of thing but surely guns are cheaper and easier.
