What if Gohan did not survive the Kamehameha struggle against Cell?

Goku and Vegeta performed a fusion dance and became Gogeta? Could Gogeta take down Super Cell in base form or would he need SSJ to revenge for Gohan if it happened?

Isn't there a universe in dragon ball multiverse where gohan didn't overpower cell?

Goku would be dead and so would Trunks. There is no one for Vegeta to fuse with. He would be better off absorbing the energy of Piccolo, Krillin, Yamcha, and Tien

Cell would probably have blown up the planet after he won or with the blast he was using against gohan.

Wasn't there a set of dragon balls on new namek at the time? Couldn't king Kai and goku just contact them to wish everyone and the earth back?

What does that have to do with anything?

Piccolo: Just how many people have you sacrificed?!

Cell: Sacrifice? Hmph, rubbish! On the contrary, it is an honor to become a fraction of my power.

If Gohan had lost, then Cell would blow up the solar system as stated. As for your question yeah Base Gogeta should easily beat SPC.

¿?

imo:
1.- bye Solar system.

2.- Cell after killing Gohan proceeds to kill the rest of the Z Fighters.

3.- as Cell did know that he isn't going to get a good fight in a long time he lets the Z Fighters live and comes to earth some years later.

i don't know which one is the best. i say the three are fine to me.

If Gohan had lost then the Solar system would have been wiped out, how is there any other way around it? Cell wasn't in a struggle if he had won then he couldn't just stop the destruction could he?

¿?

maybe, but imagine he just realizes that there wouldn't be someone equal to him in a good time so he decides to not blow up the Solar system, makes sense to me.

Yeah I guess Cell could realize that and all, but it didn't seem like it while struggling against Gohan.

Product of my environment

Gogeta can not happen in this scenario because 1.) Goku's dead, and 2.) At this point, nobody knows about the fusion dance.

I can see a few scenarios here. I think scenario 2 is most likely.

1.) Cell destroys the Solar System.

2.) Cell kills the Z-fighters, and makes the planet his playground until he gets bored, then he destroys it.

3.) Cell lets the Z-fighters live, letting them train so he can get a good fight out of them. I doubt he would let this happen, but there is a slim chance that this is a possible outcome. Once they finish training they are powerful enough to defeat Cell.

4.) Same scenario as #3, but this time the training wasn't enough, and the Z-fighters fail.

I know this is a few days old, but the topic question is 'what would have happened if Gohan didn't overpower Cell?', so a fanfiction involving a world where Gohan didn't overpower Cell seems pretty relevant.

It is relevant, but it's just the opinion of the DBM not something definite.

Man I should've initiated on the thread a little differently because now we're digressing from the sub-question. I mean what if Goku and Vegeta were able to perform the fusion dance at that time when Cell returned from death with Zenkai? Could Gogeta take out Cell in that case in just his base form or would he need to go SSJ?

Lol, I guess we just started our own scenarios.

Well assuming they performed the fusion then Base Gogeta should be able to win this, or at least put up a good fight. SSJ Gogeta destroys him though no doubt.
