Right. The side-effects were some of the same ones that women experience--depression, altered sex drive, and acne for the most part, but also a few cases of temporarily infertility (which women experience too, often permanently). On top of that, women have also been known to experience blood clots, irregular periods, missed periods, spotting, vaginal discharge, PMS, etc. So the study garnered pretty normal results when you consider what women experience. |

It takes a mere second for treasure to turn to trash.

One time when purchasing condoms I told them I was going to the zoo with them oh my god. I think I truly have no self-shame.As for male birth control... why not? Condoms prevent STD's, the shots and the pills for women work. But what are the specifics of the new birth control methods for men? I could read this whole topic but I'll do a little research and update later. Though I certainly don't see why I'd change my mind. Let people do what they want to do.Just a pill? Interesting. Publish it. I wouldn't want to risk being infertile myself... but, hell, someone's gotta try it. Edited by Sam, Nov 4 2016, 09:52 PM.

"Reporters covering this - many of whom likely did not trouble themselves with actually reading the study ... neglected to mention that some consequences were actually quite serious. Among those serious consequences was the lowering of sperm counts and, in one man, possible irreversible infertility." That's from the article you linked, and you're asking me why it's such a bad idea? Men shouldn't feel pressured into taking something that could ruin their lives, just because women want men to have their fair share. That's a piss poor mentality. Who exactly in society are you saying is responsible for this "pressure" women feel? I'm open to the idea of male birth control, but it clearly needs more work, and we shouldn't just settle for side effects equivalent to what females have endured, that's quite petty, we should be striving for better. Progress is key. Edited by Ryebrid, Nov 5 2016, 02:57 AM.
