Progress is being made on effective and safe male birth control. Anyone here willing to try it? I'd like to give my girlfriend a break from the ill effects of the pill she's on...but at the same time I'd be very paranoid about going infertile. Even if female contraception isn't perfect we know it works and there are lots of options. |

As long as it's not a condom, I'm in support of it. |

Better methods of male birth control should definitely be worked on/implemented. A man shouldn't have to rely solely on a woman to prevent pregnancy. |

I just wonder how the addition of this will affect the water, there's already tons of contraceptive chemicals in the water that are passed on through urine so men joining in could be bad for fertility rates. Which of course would be a blessing for a time until we enter the Children of Men world... I'd be happy to go on it if it definitely worked or if I'd already had a child, only really interested in having one anyway. Otherwise not touching it until it's thoroughly tested by the population. EDIT I've just imagined the period of weirdness when men worry about having taken their birth control pill for the day or not. It'll be weird as heck saying that as someone who can't have a baby. It'd be less weird than buying a box of condoms at Target. |

Buying condoms when you have to be served by someone is the worst. Usually I go through the self-serve machines at the supermarket, which is great because you can be discreet. But whenever I've been somewhere that isn't an option, I'll buy a few other things I don't need so I can go to the counter and not just put the box down by itself. It's so stupid and I know they probably don't care but still.... So yeah, I'd be all for this. |

Ya I do that too. I usually buy the following items so that I don't have to put the condom box down by itself Spoiler: click to toggle Edited by Dingo, Oct 29 2016, 04:46 AM.

Hahaha. This one time i plopped a box of condoms and lube down on the register of a chick who was pretty attractive. She was looking down and didnt say anything. I broke the ice by getting her attention with, "hey, babies are horrible, amirite?" She goes, "yeah i dont want any right now, this is something we can all get behind." Way less awkard when she started laughing. As far as B-control is concerned, im will to be an R&D guinea pig if there are sperm count sessions included. A shot or otherwise, im down. Condoms suck. |

I think it's a great idea but might be risky for sexual health as a whole. If people just hooking up have less risk of the women getting pregnant, then condom use will go down. And as much as condoms are a f***ing buzzkill, they'll still be pretty much the main line against the spread of sexual diseases. People need to stay informed and safe |

Same thought process with the pill. There are women who take it solely to have multiple partners. Getting it prescribed is as easy as asking the doctor for some because you intend to be sexually active. He doesn't do a background check to see if you have 1 partner or not. Unfortunately the mindset for condoms is pregnancy prevention, not STD prevention. You can blame that on the biggest social issue being unwanted children. Many people view herpes as something that is not that big of a deal, even though it is. |

Herpes is not actually a big issue because almost all of sexaully active people actually have it, or at least are carriers who never display symptoms (I'm talking upwards of an estimated 90% worldwide). I'm not insinuating anything, but you probably have it too, you just aren't aware of it. I probably do as well. Herpes may be highly contagious, but it doesn't cause health problems, like some STDs.
