I have been seeing Israel and Palestine in the news a lot lately. The news just doesn't go into the detail I want for everyone to understand. I kind of ignored or zoned out on the conflict when I hear about it. It only came into my mind again after hearing what people have to say. I went to a church back when I was religious I guess and they were very Pro-Israel. They would go on an entire sermon about it every now and then. What I am asking is what is with this conflict and why are people there fighting? Also what are your views on everything that is going on there?

Google Chrome	The Israelis settled in a land that was ancestrally theirs, or so they claim. The Palestineans claim that this is in fact their land and not that of Israel. The different religions don't help. Neither does the fact that the Israelis created a state via war(though in response to aggression by surrounding Arab nations). It's a fight over land basically, who owns it and what not.

Originally the land (Canaan) wasn't the Jews in the first place, according to the bible it was promised to them by God to Abraham and his descendants which will become the Land of Israel. Before Israel, the land was already occupied with Canaanites, the Israelites took the land by force but because Abraham's decedents didn't keep the Lord's Passover and worships idols, Israel and it's kings were conquered by the super powers at that time. And here we again, repeating history with the Jews taking the land by force with Britian, France and the UN helps to create the state of Israel. If religion wasn't a factor, would they still be fighting over Jerusalem?
