Some of (maybe all) the Zords have been revealed in their toy format!

Mastodon!

Pterodactyl!

Triceratops!

Saber-toothed tiger!

GO!

Don't worry, this is not Bayformers and hopefully it's nowhere near as terrible as that (hopefully, but there are very few movies that are as bad as those ones), the Zords aren't typical gritty and dark, they have colors and they look pretty good.

Two Zords that are hidden in the fog can be seen here, in case you can't see them.

And here's Alpha!

Posted Image

Concept art of him anyway...

Looks freaky though I bet he's still as much of a comedy relief as he was in the show.

More concept art, for Rita Repulsa this time!

I'm hoping this is some final form of sorts.

More info here: http://screenrant.com/power-rangers-movie-2017-rita-zordon-backstory/

the first detail has actually been evident for a while if you noticed that rita repulsa’s costume looks a lot like the ones of the other rangers. The Wrap states that rita repulsa is 65 million years old and is indeed a former green ranger gone rogue.

similarly, the second reported detail was also to be expected: zordon was the original red ranger millions of years ago, long before he transformed into a state of pure energy.

as for the rest of the rangers themselves, new details disclose that they are called to action from the free planets. they’re the best and most disciplined, having been chosen from billions and taught from the time they were children. the situation must be dire in the movie for the new rangers to be called without prior training.

alpha 5 has also been changed a bit from his lovable, robot self in the tv series. he will now have a supple metallic body that is able to mutate into different designs in order to maximize his role in the movie.

the zords themselves will be a lot larger than they were in the tv series. in recent movie posters, they appear to be double the size of the originals.

Damn. :o_O:

The Wrap has also presented us with our first run down of the plot of the movie. surprisingly, it involves the powerful Zeo Crystal first seen in the third season of the Power Rangers TV series.

The Putty Patrol will make an appearance in the movie when Rita Repulsa is trying to steal gold bullion from the Central Bank of Russia. Later, five Putties made of stone challenge the Rangers.

Rita Repulsa is collecting the gold to resurrect Goldar, and the Rangers have only 71 hours to stop her. Turns out, Goldar was vaporized into a cloud of microscopic gold particles in an opening action sequence on Ancient Earth, so now his molecular essence is scattered around the globe.

In the movie, the Zeo Crystal is an artifact that channels the Morphing Grid — a dimension that weaves through all things and what gives the Rangers their power. The crystal was hidden on Earth to keep it out of the hands of those who would use it as a weapon.

The Zeo Crystal is protected by a force field. Anything that comes in contact with it is vaporized. However, Goldar was created to penetrate that force field and steal the crystal

Rita Repulsa has been trying to deliver the Zeo Crystal to her master, Lord Zedd, for a long time. And true to the TV series, Lord Zedd once burned half his face off trying to steal the Crystal for himself, which has only made him even more desperate to have it once and for all.

Hopefully they don't reveal anything else.

Sort of, I was expecting it to be more childish.

If you've at least read the slightest bit of info about this movie, even if you've only watched the trailer, or even the few pages from this thread, you should know that it's trying to be darker than the TV shows.

Besides how does childish = horrible? That doesn't stop you from liking Dragon Ball Super.

Greetings. I will be your waifu this season.

The Zords are looking pretty cool.

Hopefully we see a good amount of them but not too much either and not right at the end.

I guess them all transforming right at the end will be totally fine, it'll be less stupid than the sword thing in Pacific Rim anyway.

I really hope that's just concept art of Alpha...
Guess they don't want it looking too much like a droid out of Star Wars but that just looks wrong "I'm going to extract all your organs and process them" kind of wrong.

All we need now is for this to be successful and then tie in with Legendary's series of monster movies, they seem to have a similar tone anyway.

This is not going to be tied with the monster movies.

The Rangers aren't going against Godzilla. Sorry dude.

But that would be brilliant...

Power Rangers being a thing would make much more sense for the verse than present day human technology being able to construct a Mecha Godzilla if Legendary ever does that.

Although I suppose they could go for a "It's never happened because we've never needed it to" kind of idea.

It's like the perfect tie in series to make some of Godzilla's enemies fit in more, though there are so many giant monsters from Power Rangers that would need to be excluded lest the whole planet be infested with them.

I really don't get what you're trying to say most of the time.

By then, Power Rangers will probably not even get a sequel.

There aren't really all that many, especiall in Mighty Morphing. There are just random minions going kaiju-sized.

I hope they won't mess it up. Power Rangers used to be one of the best things of 90s.

New trailer I think:

That end bit...oh my what did they do to Alpha...?

Why did they turn him in to Skids/Mudflap from Transformers?

Generally I like what I'm seeing besides that. Hopefully Alpha isn't too goofy and actually functions as a useful asset to the team not just comic relief...

Bro, don't even compare this somewhat actually competent version of Alpha to Skids and Mudflap. At least he actually seems to be kicking a*** here, and even if he didn't, when has Alpha ever NOT been the comedy relief of the series? He's more of an annoyance than anything else, always arguing and bothering Zordon, like a more retarded clone of C3PO.

Yeah but Alpha seemed like a functioning person just a bit of a dork from what I remember, like Velma from Scooby Doo.

This Alpha seems like it might as well be a Minion...
