we have in here a Skilled Fighter (let's put DBS Goku in here, but removing any abilities except Flying) vs. a Strong Fighter (mmmm, Broly, no skills at all but all his abilities and a 1.1x power advantage on top of that. who wins? if this is Unfair for Broly remove flying for Goku. |

Even if DBS Goku weren't epitome of an unskilled fighter (he had to be told that breathing hard means you're tired, I'd go so far as to say Broly is the more skilled of the two) I'd still give this to the stronger fighter. Jackie Chun barely won against Goku, and really small differences in power levels have allowed absolute stomps. Broly also had his abilities here so I'd imagine he'd pull forward and win. Someone like Piccolo could pull forward a win potentially, but he was close to Frost and still lost that battle. Edited by Tinny, Oct 6 2016, 08:32 PM.

Skill in respect to context is often synonymous with power. I don't think very many incidences exist in this series where I found myself impressed by the technical skill or intelligence of the characters. The fights generally amount to a destructive fisticuffs brawl with some utilisation of different appendages for offencive and defencive purposes to give the illusion of finesse. Any approach that happens to have more than just one or two steps is deemed "strategy" like Piccolo's rudimentary suggestions of tactical combat during the Saiyan arc. I question if most of the characters in this series could even handle themselves against an actual martial arts practitioner in real life without their overwhelming strength advantage and Ki abilities.

Make it Cui and he wins. The cheap shot via distraction technique is immensely helpful. |

Goku was able to defeat Pikkon by outsmarting him (he would've lost otherwise). If I remember correctly, they also defeated Golden Frieza by allowing him to run low on energy due to him not being used to that form. Sometimes the smarter fighter can win, but not always. |

I'm getting very angry with you, and for me that is a very bad thing, so watch yourself. | |
