Does life have a "goal"?

Greetings. I will be your waifu this season.

Been thinking about this a lot lately.

By this I mean literal life not "does life have meaning" etc etc, actual living organisms.

Is evolution just purely random or does it have a purpose is what I'm getting it?
Maybe whatever could first have been called "life" on this planet is bacteria or whatever present in everything and it has been constantly evolving in different ways to try and create the perfect form of life to live on this planet, able to adapt to and survive to most if not all conditions on Earth.

Humans obviously being quite close to the ultimate life form for surviving on Earth, certainly not without our faults and weaknesses however.

If true does life elsewhere in the universe follow the same patterns or could there be different types of it? For instance maybe somewhere with life supporting conditions, life never evolved to have the ability to hear or see and instead focused on other senses not as prevalent in Earth life.

Evolution isn't random as far as I know (I'm not that educated on the matter though). You don't just evolv in any old way, it happens based on your surroundings, your behaviour etc. Basically, if you need it, or don't need it, evolution should eventually get it for you, or get rid of it. That's the impression I took from school and stuff anyway.

To answer the question 'does life, as in life forms, have a goal?', if they do, it's just to exist.

Life having a goal would imply that we're on this earth for some specific reason, and we aren't. So... no.

We make our own goals. Otherwise existing becomes pointless.

Life is all about growth, reproduction, functional activity, and continual change preceding death.

The goal is to survive and reproduce.

How does it?

If bacteria ended up here by whatever means then the reason for all of us existing could be part of that bacteria's goal to survive here. We could just be considered by-products of the journey towards the ultimate being to survive on this planet.

EDIT I don't mean special powers and s*** just like something that can survive in all climates. Obviously we're close but we need to wear clothes to live in cold places, can't breathe underwater naturally etc etc

But can there really be an 'ultimate being'? Even if there were a life form that could survive in any area of the planet, it would still need other lifeforms to aid it's existence, even if it's just for food. Surely that would negate any 'ultimate' labelling, since there would still be a reliance on something else in order for the being to survive and thrive?

I Believe Life and also ur own Life's goals depend on what we and it all make of it individually.
And I also believe that out there in the universe(even though it may not be classified as "Life" by us) is indeed Life by it's own definition and concept.
