I ordered it over the weekend and came just yesterday. While playing it I thought the myself "It truly is the most underrated DBZ game and WHY ISN'T THERE A SEQUEL?!!". Burst Limit uses the Shin Budokai combat only simplified as there's no multi-directional inputs for combos and most smash attacks are nullifiers, but at the same time the characters play completely different as opposed to Budokai 3 or Shin Budokai where the differences are relatively subtle. With Burst Limit you'll notice the differences immediately and it's the first DBZ fighter where I can safety say every one character is unique... even characters like Yamcha and Tien have moves that are reflective to their fighting styles in the series. It also introduces stuff like side-step rush attacks, Aura Spark, Mega-Crush (which is like the aura escape thing in BT3), and actually teaches players about teleport cancels. Dragon Dash and those power-ups aren't there but they aren't necessary... Burst Limit also has the best fatigue within the whole series. It's like Infinite World's only not annoying. One think I don't like is obviously the ki system and sidestepping is stiff compared to in Budokai. There it was simple as pressing the G buttion + down at the same time... in BL you would have to stand still to do a sidestep (though the sidestep range is wide). Aside from that... the game was the perfect combination of accessibility and functionality. It's very familiar with an easy-to-pick-up-and-play factor but takes time to master. All it really needed was more/better content. |

The super attacks and pseudo dragon rush are painfully generic. The animations are canned on those poorly. |

How so? Those have a unique animation, or at least a unique color on the explosion. Burst Limit's reaction to the attacks are all the same white background with the character doing a weird T-Pose, and the Dragon Rushes are all the exact same. |

I think a huge flaw in this game was the equipped items that would severely disrupt the flow of battle by calling in an ally or something of the like. |
