Content that is considered "not advertiser-friendly" includes, but is not limited to:

. Sexually suggestive content, including partial nudity and sexual humor

. Violence, including display of serious injury and events related to violent extremism

. Inappropriate language, including harassment, profanity and vulgar language

. Promotion of drugs and regulated substances, including selling, use and abuse of such items

. Controversial or sensitive subjects and events, including subjects related to war, political conflicts, natural disasters and tragedies, even if graphic imagery is not shown

What a horrendously misguided thing to do.

Basically any monetized videos that have any of that in them get adverts taken off them which means content creators don't get any money for the video just because the word "boob" might be in the title or they might be talking about a recent news story, such as a recent bombing.

What a load of nonsense, that basically means most of the big YouTubers out there either have to quit or completely alter their content.
Which also means that YouTube itself will make far less money.

What will you do when you get old?

Don't think this affects most of the YouTubers I watch, except for Mega64.

It spawned this image though

I think this was done because of Drama Alert in which case i'm glad that he's not making money from his videos anymore.

All in all IDRC about this policy change really.

If that's the case I don't get why they didn't just take his channel down instead of making most of the popular YouTubers suffer because he's an a*****.

Keemstar has legitimately accused tons of people of being paedophiles, called many people the N word and has ruined tons of channels but they don't take his down...YouTube is pretty damn broken.

Now they want to turn it in to a Teletubby fun land where nobody says any bad words.

Leave Youtube as a content creator, that's the best solution.

YouTube has been going down the drain since Google acquired it. Prior to like 2008-2010, it was a wonderland of joyous opportunities...just without HD quality.

I watched a video on someone discussing this. He is usually very intelligent on these issues, apparently this is directed at ads before and during the user videos that present some kind of risque or inappropriate nature, but the members videos themselves should still be fine and not be subject to change

Nah, there were still some high quality videos.

Piccolo: Just how many people have you sacrificed?!

Cell: Sacrifice? Hmph, rubbish! On the contrary, it is an honor to become a fraction of my power.

Apparently you just need to not include trigger words (excessive vulgarities) in the titles of your videos and you should be fine.

Novacane for the pain

The biggest problem is how vague most of this stuff is and how inconsistently it's applied. No one really knows what's actually going on because YouTube isn't communicating properly (as per usual). The thing is, I do get where YT is coming from in a sense. It's still not a profitable platform remember, even though there's content creators on there making millions from it. And advertisers might not be keen to have their products associated with certain videos which is actually fair. But like with everything there's a line here and YT needs to be clearer with what's actually being done so we can figure out how acceptable that really is.
