I generally order from Amazon when I can because Amazon is a big, reliable brand name, but not frequently. I'm sort of impatient when I order things, so is Amazon Prime worthwhile for the 2 day shipping? Are the other features of it worth the monthly fee as well? |

Yeah Amazon Prime has paid for itself many times over for me. I also want things right away and don't like having to pay each time for expedited shipping. Sometimes if you order at the right time it effectively just comes in the next day. The only thing I remember worth watching on Prime Video was Suits and HIMYM which was also on Netflix so it's kinda pointless for that aspect. |

I went through and started a free trial. I don't watch much in the ways of movie or cinema and I generally buy CDs for music instead of listening to them on streaming sites, but the free shipping offer has just saved me $30 shipping already, and I'll have everything in a few days too. |

Yeah it's f***ing great. It's a bit expensive as a one time purchase but if you order a lot online it soon makes up for itself. Amazon Video is...okay too, nowhere near as good as Netflix and you only get like a season or two free usually but the selection is decent. But the prices and free shipping are where it's at, by now I've saved thousands of pounds on shipping and in discounts, easily. I only really buy things if they're with Prime too(which is probably the whole point in it) I also have no idea when I'm supposed to be billed for it haven't had any emails for it, you seem to get several years of it for one payment which is...odd. But great

Amazon itself can be quite misleading for collectible merchandise. I'm a figure collector, and since the listings on Amazon is a single item with sellers names attached to it as being merchants of that item, a lot of Chinese sellers will list themselves as sellers of that advertised item, but actually possess the Chinese knock-off versions. Therefore someone will look at the item, buy it, but then receive a bootleg. And the thing is that it's extremely easy for these sellers to do this and get away with it. There was even a collector that I knew who actually got a bootleg figure from Amazon themselves, not a secondary seller. The figure was one of Goku, and the real figure went for around $90 retail. He paid the price of the real one, but got a knock-off version. This is why I almost always go with eBay, but eBay takes some experience to navigate; but there's very little chance of people being able to bullsh*t you. I don't think Amazon Prime now is worth it unless you buy frequently from them. Edited by Ketchup Revenge, Aug 28 2016, 02:46 PM.

I would say that it's only worth it if you are regularly purchasing from Amazon already. No point getting it and then buying things just to take advantage of it, because then you're spending money that you wouldn't have spent anyway, so you're not really saving money. But if you are using Amazon regularly, it probably does end up paying for itself over the year. |

I spend at least $100 on shipping a year on Amazon, so if I continue that current trend I'll be paying about the same per year, but instead of standard shipping it's 2 day. I've determined it's worthwhile to me. Also I'm well aware of knockoffs. I bought a carry handle for my AR-15 over Amazon and got a cheap NcStar Chinese version instead. Shipped it back and got a refund though. |

I've had Prime for over a year now and it has been a blessing. I do order a lot of stuff online though, but the free shipping his great and the free videos are pretty decent. Not as good as Netflix, but still pretty good |
