The highest achievement scientist can achieve is having their life's work be regarded as theory. To be honest, the fact that we use still Newtons laws of motion when we escape the earth is testimony to fact that our descriptions of nature is still incomplete. Evolution is a super theory. Evolutionary algorithms have been massively successful at optimization problems. This, in my opinion, is also strong evidence that the principle of natural selection is sound.
